Brrrr. It's the perfect weather to stay home, wrapped in many layers of sweater-shawl-blanket. For that extra kick of protein, or for the sheer love of peanut butter, here's three ridiculously easy recipes for the winter.
Hot Chocolate with Peanut Butter
What you need: A saucepan, Cocoa powder, Unsweetened Creamy Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate
Recipe: Heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it's warm but not boiling. Whisk in the cocoa powder and when hot enough, add peanut butter and pieces of dark chocolate. Pour into a mug and top with marshmallows and more cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
Peanut Butter Energy Balls
What you need: 1/2 cup roasted oats, 1/2 cup nuts, 1/4 cup coconut flakes, Chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds (optional), 1/2 cup Happy Jars peanut butter, 2 tablespoons coconut oil
Recipe: Toast the oats in a pan until brown. Stir all the ingredients together in a bowl until well mixed. Cover and chill for a bit so they're easier to roll. Roll into small balls and store in the fridge. We'd say consume within a week, but they won't last that long.
Oat Granola with Peanut Butter
What you need: Oats, Almonds, Coconut oil, Jaggery Creamy Peanut Butter, Honey (to taste), Chocolate Chips.
Recipe: Mix all the ingredients together and spread them onto a baking tray. Bake for 40-50 minutes. Devour when cool.
